to go fishing. This period usually
extends from mid-June to the end
of June and is simply perfect to
get a good catch. Winds and storm
clouds are features of this season.

period, fishing is good on the eastern
side and in the northern atolls.

sunshine and winds from the north-east
side. You can find different types

acts as a boon for fishermen. The

trevally and barracudas. The best
time to go fishing is early in the
morning. Fishing at night is also
very popular in the Maldives.

advised not to venture far into
the sea Fishing is an important
industry in the country’s
economy, making important contributions
to the nation’s gross domestic
